A black comedy about what can happen when your life takes an unexpected turn after a divorce. George (Juan Dujardin), his new deerstalker jacket and a video camera. This is the start of a new relationship and an adventure you wouldn't expect anywhere, let alone in a sleepy village in the French Alps. When a midlife crisis comes along with a crisis of masculinity, sometimes things go really badly wrong. The protagonist of this black comedy is the newly divorced Jean Dujardin (The Artist), who is charmed by a shabby cowboy jacket made of deerskin. The inhabitants of a village in the French Alps think of him as an independent filmmaker - it's the only way he can befriend the gullible barmaid Adele Haenel (Portrait of a Girl on Fire), who longs for a career as an editor. She soon becomes a collaborator on a dubious documentary that captures his new and unexpected life goal.
